InterplayI am a certified Interplay Leader, which contributes to my own joy and growth, and I am enthusiastic about sharing this with others. I co-lead a mixed gender drop-in class on Friday mornings. So what is Interplay? For me Interplay unlocks a lifelong of hidden talent that I never knew I had. The amazing part is that it totally supports who I am. In Interplay there is no criticism, only support and affirmation of who you are and what you do to express who you are. It doesn't care about limitations, only opportunities. It doesn't force, it allows. It's incremental and graceful. I grow at my own rate and you grow at yours. It's not therapy, but it's therapeutic. It's real fun and it supports every aspect of life. Give me a call and I'll talk and share experience with you. (206) 501-7179. You can also check out their website at interplay.org. Sacred ClowningIt was January 2004 and I was feeling depressed. My life seemed flat and lacking in creative expression. I had tried many different creative outlets in the past and I became good at some and not so good at others. Anyway, I needed something new that involved an expression of my Self. One evening I was reading a Buddhist periodical in which there was an interview with a French man who was practicing mindfulness meditation in combination with European clown. His name is Didier Danthois, Sacred Clown as Healer. I was amazed and excited how being in touch with silence could become so open, vulnerable and expressive. It is a true application of healing the connection to Self through being a fool. I found what I was looking for!
My teacher, Didier Danthois I have been training with Didier since 2004. Yes, I go to London for training because I couldn't find it in the USA. It has been a real growth point for me, to be the fool in the moment. To share emotions and Spirit and trust that everything I need is right here, right now. I love the performing, the improvisation, the use of the body in ways I didn't experience before and now know are true. It has affected my life and the way I do therapy. My compassion has deepened for people who I see in therapy. I'm more patient, more deeply present. I now perform in nurshing homes and for small groups. It feels like Self with a "sacred attitude" as Didier puts it. Feel free to contact me about Sacred Clowning and performances at (206) 501-7179. |
